Cafe Italia as a Concept

From a sketch by Mitch Thompson, local architect, the final design of Cafe Italia resulted.  Seating for 75 is available within the original brick walls of the 1910 Building at 2417 Montana Avenue in Billings Montana.  Hours are 4:30 to closed Tuesday through Sunday.  We are closed Monday night.

Construction Summer of 2008

Construction started in the summer of 2008.  The City of Billings required all new electrical systems, plumbing systems, fire separations, and heating and air conditioning systems in order to meet all of today's city codes.  We thank the State of Montana for their patience with the Beer & Wine License that was obtained from the 2007 Montana State lottery.  The kitchen was expanded from the McCormick Cafe next store to provide the space necessary for efficient operation.  Thanks to the hard work by Laughlin Construction and especially Cag Lee for all construction details, Steve Marsh for his preparation of our menu, Mike Pasini  and Suzy Roberts for beer and wine selections and front of house training, Cafe Italia was ready to go by November 2008.

Grand Opening December 4, 2008

Cafe Italia opened for business on November 18, 2008 with a Grand Opening on December 4, 2008 sponsored by the Downtown Billings Association.  Business was brisk and has remained great ever since.  Cafe Italia has now become a fixture on Historic Montana Avenue.  The Cafe serves a great dinner from Tuesday through Sunday night (best pastas in Billings).

Summer 2009 brings Flowers

What a difference a year can make!  With its 1910 vine covered walls, hanging flowers baskets, and ample parking areas, Cafe Italia is now considered a "destination stop" for the Billings residents as well as the out-of-towners.  A great pasta dinner just like Grandma used to serve. time or a 30 minute lunch can be ordered too!
